We are currently in Manchester with the great people at GMI Construction Limited installing on the Oldham Road project, a new-build contemporary 144 apartment development in Manchester’s up and coming New Cross District. The high-quality development includes a reception area, concierge services, resident’s lounges and commercial space. The project will also feature a 3000 sq ft roof-top terrace.
This project has come with some some interesting detailing challenges for us that we have enjoyed working on as it needed to retain some special acoustic and thermal requirements. We are using Planitherm One T FG coating on the external panes of glass in the double glazed units supplied by Duek Seal Glass ltd. for the residential apartments to achieve their thermal requirements. We have used differing thicknesses for the acoustic laminated glass panes to achieve the required acoustic values per zone. Glass being used is from Saint Gobain .
As you can see from the architectural visualisation the finished colour is a real feature of the final build and we are using Interpon’s Djibouti Sablé ultra-durable powder coating with a textured effect . It will provide an excellent level of weathering resistance and significantly higher gloss retention and resistance to colour change, combined with maximum film integrity, to ensure long term cosmetic and functional protection.
We are installing Aluprof systems products with their excellent MB-SR50N curtain wall, which already looks great in the pictures and three variations of MB70 windows and MB70 doors.
We are proud of our recent working history in Manchester and we cannot wait to see another quality building grace this fantastic city.
