Curtain Wall Systems from Senior Architectural Systems

Elite Aluminium Systems design, fabricate and install a fantastic range of high quality curtain wall products from Senior Architectural Systems.

Curtain wall is designed to resist air and water infiltration and to provide a thermal barrier between inside and out.

It also allows for the filtration of more natural light into the building and is used on numerous new-build and refurbishment developments. We offer a full range of curtain wall systems that are fully drained and have a high thermal performance to cope with the most extreme weather conditions.

We can provide an extensive range of high performance curtain walling systems from ground floor treatments to high rise multi-storey facades to roof glazing, manufactured using either capped or capless systems.

A variety of mullion and transom depths allow for the fabrication of screens with large uninterrupted glazing areas creating consistent attractive facades.

All curtain wall sections are thermally broken and there are options for single, double or triple glazing. The entire curtain wall range can be supplied in a range of polyester powder or anodised finishes.

A dual colour option is available throughout. For more information regarding our products or advice on product selection, please contact our offices.

SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEMS

SF52

The SF52 curtain wall system has been designed to enhance thermal performance meaning the system can exceed current building regulations. It is a stick type front loaded system using spring pins and a specially designed cleat which allows square cutting throughout. The system can be either zone drained (via conventional pressure plate drainage or using a specially designed spout system) or it can be mullion drained. The zone drained system can be assembled capped, uncapped (using the SAS toggles) or combination of the two. Glazing ranges from 22mm to 50mm. Section sizes vary from 50mm to 250mm (50, 80, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250). Specific profiles can be incorporated offering design flexibility.

All aluminium sections are extruded using Aluminium Alloy 6060, 6063 or 6083 (for improved strength) T6 to BS EN 755 part 9 2008 or BS EN 12020-2. Thermal breaks are extruded to BS 7619. Gaskets are manufactured in accordance with BS 3734.

The SF52 curtain wall system is available typically in three finishes.
• Polyester Powder Coating to BS EN 12206-1: 2004 Part 1 – painted in house. Surface finish at 40 microns standard, or enhanced to 60 microns for marine environments, in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001.
• Anodised finishes are to BS3897:1991 to a minimum of 25 microns (AA25), supplied in a limited range of colours.
• Mill finish.

SF52 curtain wall system utilises square cuts throughout and is joined using a specially designed cleat and spring pin within the zone drained system. The mullion drained system uses a “lap” joint. A proprietary sealant is used on all metal to metal joints in line with good working practice. All internal gaskets are designed to mate with injection moulded corner pieces and are sealed at joints. Shear blocks and reinforcing sleeves are available. Average U Values Due to the variety of profiles, mullion spacings, glass and panel specifications on each project; a specific U-value calculation will be require.

Mullion Drained

We have used this product to great effect over the last few years. This variation creates a sleek and uniformed finish just like the rest of the SF52 range. Offering invisible drainage, the mullion drained system has a specially designed drainage system which only need to be used above splice joints. Enabling the system to drain through the vertical pressure plate, there is no drainage required on transoms.

Having no need for visible drainage slots alongside it’s unique slim sight lines, Seniors Mullion Drained offers great flexibility. With the ability to be faceted to 20˚ – 10˚ degrees per side without any need for additional adaptors this solution is ideally suited to a wide range of applications offering ease and speedy installation.

Constructed using step cut transoms that are sealed agains’t an end seal placed into the mullion. Fully compatible with the portfolio of Seniors window and door solutions we install the SF52 mullion drained is also capable of holding double or triple glazed units ranging from 28mm to 52mm thickness.

SCW Curtain Wall

The SCW Curtain Wall is a cost-effective semi-unitised, zone-drained and pressure equalized aluminium system. It offers a slim 50mm sightline, with a choice of 3 mullion and 4 transom depths. The system is capable of being fabricated into ladders for quick assembly on site.

With an increased rebate size it is possible to achieve additional clearance between the section and infill, this allows glass to move a between the sections where there is structural movement. Also greater edge cover for issues such as guarding.

Elegance 52

Elegance 52 is a comprehensive aluminium curtain wall system that combines technology and design with the demands of contemporary building architecture and construction. By using a 52mm aluminium substructure width a slim sightline is provided alongside necessary strength and inertia requirements.

Standard (ST)

Elegance 52 ST is anything but standard, with a proven history for performance and thermal insulation. This thermally broken curtain wall system offers many design options by the use of differently designed mullions and cover caps.

The Elegance 52 ST offers you solutions for vertical, sloped and roof applications and can also provide facetted facade solutions.

Solutions range from cold single glazing to high-performance meeting the requirements of Passive House certification from iFT Rosenheim.

Horizontal (HL)
Elegance 52 HL is a specific solutions when a horizontal lining is required. The system is based on the Elegance 52 ST basic structure and creates a continuity effect by changing the vertical cover caps for a hidden profile sealed by a gasket.

The hidden profile still allows the tight sealing of glass against the structure, and the gasket masks the opposing detail putting more emphasis on the horizontal cover cap depending on which option is chosen. The emphasised cover caps can be chosen out of a wide range of profiles to integrate into the total building design.

Vertical (VL)
Elegance 52 VL is a specific solutions when a vertical lining is required. The system is based on the Elegance 52 ST basic structure and creates a continuity effect by changing the opposing cover caps for a hidden profile sealed by a gasket.

MB-TT50

MB SR50 EFEKT

The system is intended for constructing and producing the light weight curtain walls of hanging and filling types. The external appearance of the façade free form visible cover beads – similar to the structural wall – was obtained thanks to the appropriate preparation of the in-fills and application of the fastening elements acting in the interspaces between the in-fills and covered with the so-called weather silicones.

EFEKT

The proper thermal and acoustic insulation was achieved by the application of a continuous thermal break made of HPVC insulation material as well as profiled gaskets made of EPDM.

Thanks to the sandwich structure of the lintel-window sill strip, in which the non-flammable materials such as mineral wool and plaster boards are used, the fire resistance classification was obtained depending on the construction of F0.25(EI15)NRO, F0.5(EI45)NRO.

In the MB-SR50 EFEKT façade it is possible to apply opening-tilt windows, basing on the structural wall system MB-SG50.
